Who is behind Bucklebee Bags?

Joan Radell, a long-time sewer, quilter and sewing teacher is the designer behind Bucklebee Bags, Bucklebee by Me patterns and the specialty notions offered for sale. She does her design and production at the Bucklebee Workshop in the beautiful Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. When she's not working on new designs or making handbags, Joan enjoys cooking and baking (pies a specialty!) or puttering around her raised-bed straw garden.

Where can I purchase Bucklebee Bags and patterns?

You may purchase Bucklebee by Me patterns, notions, tools and hardware on this website in the Bucklebee Shop, at local quilt shops (ask for them!) and at the Bucklebee pop-up shop at quilt and sewing shows and expos.

Sometimes we have handbags for sale; they are offered at this website and in the pop-up shop only.

Can you donate a handbag to my charity or organization?

We often donate bags for charity or other fund-raising auctions. Please use the contact form for inquiries.

How do you calculate shipping costs and sales tax?

Unless your order is unusually large, it will fit into a US Postal Service Priority Mail flat-rate envelope. We charge you a few cents less than the actual shipping charge. If you are located in Pennsylvania, by law we must charge you 6% state sales tax.

Can we book a handbag construction class, trunk show, or lecture for our shop, group or guild? Will you bring the Bucklebee pop-up shop to our quilt show?

Sure! Shoot Joan an email and she'll get back to you with the details. Fees vary by your location, type and duration of event. We love vending at quilt and sewing shows. Let us know when and where your event is, and we'd be happy to consider vending there.

My Bucklebee by Me pattern doesn't use traditional techniques that I am familiar with! Can you help me out?

Yes, we are always happy to help. Bucklebee by Me patterns use innovative methods designed to make the best use of your time and materials. Those methods can be unconventional, but we know that they work. If you're flummoxed or frustrated, don't think twice about emailing. We can talk you through almost anything. We can't fix a cutting mistake, so contact us before you try to fix it yourself with a pair of scissors!
