Ready for a holiday!
I am more than ready for a holiday. No Memorial Day plans here, but just a day to clear my head and do, well, nothing will do me a world of good. I’ve put in a lot of sewing hours this week, mostly on a Super Secret Project that I can’t show you (yet) and making soft smallware for a friend’s gift shop. She raises llamas, so I am up to my ears in llama prints, as you might imagine. I’ve worked hard and I need to relax and recharge my batteries.
While she and I were brainstorming for merchandise ideas, I said that I thought a water bottle carrier might be a good fit. She hosts guided llama walks, so a hands-free way to carry water seems like a winner, no? So I’ve been working on prototypes that are simple and functional, but pretty enough for a walk in the city, too. I should have the final version done tomorrow.
While I was sewing up a stack of Double Decker eyeglass cases today, I started making careless little errors that were costing me time and upping my stress levels. That means it’s time for a break in my world. I’ll get the work done, and do it better, if I walk away for a bit.
It’s a dreary, chilly day up here in the beautiful Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania, which makes me want to cover up in my favorite quilt and sneak in a little snooze. And so I will.
Have a great weekend, all.
